Did you just have a tooth pulled, or are you planning on doing so? If the answer is yes, you probably have questions about the process of recovery. At Dr. M. J. Roybal Family Dentistry, we are committed to ensuring you have the swiftest, most comfortable recovery possible.

After extracting the tooth, Dr. Mario Roybal may offer a dental restoration if he feels it would be in the best interest of your oral health. Dental restoration comes in the form of crowns, implants or bridges. However, dental restoration isn’t always an option (for example, if a tooth was pulled because of excessive crowding), and the root area may be left bare until your teeth fill it naturally. If this is the case, there are steps you can take to quicken the healing process and avoid infection.

First, ask Dr. Mario Roybal for special care and diet instructions. Second, keep your mouth clean and free of bacteria. Avoid brushing and flossing the exposed area, but clean everywhere else. Rinse gently. Third, avoid drinking through a straw for at least 24 hours. Fourth, refrain from smoking or using other products that could jeopardize the exposed area. Fifth, if you experience swelling, place a cold compress on the swollen side of your face and call Dr. M. J. Roybal Family Dentistry.

Dental extractions are no sweat, and if you follow post-extraction instructions, your healing process will be quick and easy. For more information, contact us at 228-388-4519 or pay us a visit at our facility in Biloxi, Mississippi.
